De K&H Bart van Lier 512 tenortrombone is in Duitsland verkozen tot 'Instrument van het jaar 2014'! De jury prees de trombone om zijn comfort, efficiëntie, intonatie, stemming en vakmanschap. Bart van Lier over dit topmodel: "Dit type heeft dezelfde karakteriestieken als model 480/88 en de 500. De verschillen zitten 'm in de grotere boring en de grotere beker én natuurlijk het 'open wrap' kwartventiel. Dit alles betekent natuurlijk meer geluid en meer mogelijkheden. Dat maakt deze trombone zeer geschikt voor brassbands e.d.!"
