Mike Mangini’s American Hickory ontwerp met een grip van .580” (1.47cm) wat geleidelijk naar de .620” (1.57cm) gaat en dan terug naar een acorn tip. Mike’s redenen voor dit ontwerp is dat de stok een extra gewicht aan de top heeft voor een consistente "throw'' en een "transient sound". Met dit extra gewicht krijg je ook een dik klinkende rimshot.
