Over dit model tenortrombone, de Bart van Lier 480/80 van Kühnl & Hoyer, zegt Bart van Lier het volgende: "Trots ben ik op het resultaat. Er waren nog wensen om de trombone te verbeteren en dat is met dit type gelukt. Het instrument is flexibeler en de sound in ''P" is meer mellow. Het is nog makkelijker geworden om van een donker geluid naar een scherp geluid te switchen en bindingen gaan soepeler dan ooit. Verder spreekt de trombone makkelijk aan, terwijl de toonkwaliteit een grotere boring doet vermoeden.
